Jamie Oliver's TED Speech

I'm a bit behind the times on this one, but I just ran across Jamie Oliver's speech when he won the TED prize in 2010.  Since our country's obesity problem and food issues have hardly gone away, it is still very relevant. He is right that passing along food knowledge and culture and the importance that carries amongst families is a lost art and one that has come at much too high a price. We need to teach our children about food again, and send them into the world knowing how to cook.

Food blogs are a dime a dozen, and can be a wonderful tool, but they are no substitute for mom, dad, aunt, uncle, friend or mentor getting creative and messy in the kitchen side by side with a child.

"I wish for everyone to help create a strong, sustainable movement to educate every child about food, inspire families to cook again and empower people everywhere to fight obesity."
